Wednesday, June 10th at 4PM CDT

Students will:

- Learn about the fantasy genre of fiction

- Explore the origins the classic children’s novel, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

- Listen to an excerpt from the book and recognize fantastical elements

- Understand the game of croquet as it relates to the book

- Understand the meaning of Force in physical science as it relates to the game of croquet

- Apply Newton’s Second Law of Motion to the game of croquet

- Use creative and critical thinking skills to design and build a table-top flamingo croquet game inspired by Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland

- Follow the scientific process through brainstorming ideas, planning designs, testing and revising

- Practice public speaking and communication skills when presenting their games to the class

- Use hand eye coordination to play hit the ball through the wickets
