Pack your suitcases for a cross-country STEAM adventure! You and your tribe will play and engineer your way from sea to shining sea: From the Statue of Liberty to Yosemite; from the Colorado Rockies to the Hawaiian Volcanoes; from the Great Lakes to the Golden Gate Bridge; From the theme parks of Orlando to the red carpets of Hollywood. This imagination-fueled engineering-filled excursion across the USA promises to have campers smiling from coast to coast.
This all-virtual camp is a perfect way to combine STEAM, problem-solving, and fun in a safe way this summer! Each daily workshop will include 2 hours of hands-on activities. Students will NOT be staring at a screen the whole time; instead, we’ll be giving them enough instruction to help them learn the fundamentals of the lesson, and then we let them loose to create and build! ALL REQUIRED MATERIALS ARE INCLUDED in the camp fee, so that you’ll have everything you need to get started! The supply bags are picked up in Traverse City on the Friday or Sunday immediatley before camp (location and times will be communicated). If you do not have a TC zip code, we will work with you to make other arrangements. (Full details regarding materials and meeting links will be emailed to you after you register.)
The course is taught live by STEAM professionals from right here in Michigan, who encourage and celebrate the students’ accomplishments. We keep course enrollment small, to allow for plenty of interaction between the instructors and the students, and between the students themselves; this will be an opportunity to make new friends from other communities and even other states! We look forward to seeing you this summer on Challenge Island!
TO REGISTER: A $30 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a spot in the camp. Deposits are applied to the total cost of the camp. Students must be paid-in-full one week before the start of camp and before supplies are given out.
Cancellation/Refund: Full refunds minus the non-refundable deposit are given for cancellations made before the start of the camp. There are no refunds after the first class and once supplies are delivered.
