Challenge Island® partners with Girl Scout councils nationwide, and we are now offering hands-on STEAM Girl Scout virtual workshops for girls of all ages - Daisy through Ambassador.  But girls take note: These are not sit-watch-a-video and do the activity on your own types of classes!  These classes are fully interactive with the teacher and the other kids on the call and completely hands-on, just as our in-person classes are.  Join us on our interactive online classes and connect with your troop members and new Girl Scout friends. We have put together a special workshop just for you!

Daisy Mechanical Engineering Badge Workshop has 3 separate challenges that are scheduled on different dates. 

Sun, Aug 9 -  3:00 pm -4:00 pm  - Model Car Design Challenge

Sun. Aug 9 -  4:00 pm - 5:00 pm  - Board Game Design Challenge

Mon, Aug 10 - 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm  - Roller Coaster Design Challenge

At each workshop session, girls will use the Engineering Design Process to understand a real-world issue, create a design build around the topic, and will have the opportunity to show off their go-getter ingenuity to their fellow Girl Scouts.  Girls are encouraged to wear their sash/vest. 

With participation in all three workshop sessions, girls earn 3 different Mechanical Engineering Badges. (Troop leaders need to order them.)

Once registered, we will send you a Materials List which the Girl Scout can have a scavenger hunt with around the house.  Many  of the items are things you might have already in the house.  You can gather an item OR substitute something else. If you want to order a materials kit for $6 (for all 3 challenges), please email us at CISanDiego@challenge-island.com and we'll arrange a materials pickup date. Materials kits are only available in the San Diego area.

We will send you a link to join Home Island, Challenge Island's virtual classroom and the Materials List at least 5 days before the workshop.

If you have more than one Girl Scout at home in this level, the 2nd girl gets 50% discount.

 A Certificate of Completion & exclusive Challenge Island patch will be mailed directly to the Girl Scout upon completion of all 3 challenges. This does not include the Badges.
