Challenge Island® partners with Girl Scout councils nationwide. And we

are now offering hands-on STEAM Girl Scout virtual workshops for girls 

of all ages - Daisy through Ambassador.  But girls take note: These are

not sit-watch-a-video-and-do-the-activity-on-your-own types of classes!  

These workshops are fully interactive with the teacher and the other 

kids on the call and completely hands-on, just as our in-person classes

are. Join us on our interactive online workshops and connect with your

troop members and new Girl Scout friends. We have put together a

special workshop just for you!

 8/23 Virtual Junior Mechanical Engineering 3-Badge Workshop:

- Paddle Boat Design Challenge 

- Balloon Car Design Challenge

- Crane Design Challenge

In the workshop, girls will use the Engineering Design Process to understand a real-world issue, create a design build around the topic, and will have the opportunity to show off their go-getter ingenuity to their fellow Girl Scouts.  Girls are encouraged to wear their sash/vest. 

With participation in this workshop, girls earn 3 different Mechanical Engineering Badges. (Troop leaders need to order them.)

Once registered, we will send you a Materials List which the Girl Scout can have a scavenger hunt with around the house.  Many  of the items are things you might have already in the house.  You can gather an item OR substitute something else. If you want to order a materials kit for $6 (for all 3 challenges), please email us at CISanDiego@challenge-island.com and we'll arrange a materials pickup date. Materials kits are only available in the San Diego area.

We will also send you a link to join Home Island, Challenge Island's virtual classroom. If there are siblings that are in the same GS level, the 2nd child gets a 50% discount.

A Certificate of Completion & exclusive Challenge Island patch will be mailed directly to the Girl Scout upon completion of all 3 challenges. This does not include the Badges. Please be sure to take photos of your Girl Scout's builds to share with their Troop Leader. It'll show them what they've made to earned their badges.
