This program is an enrichment
opportunity for students to grow their skills and knowledge in critical
thinking, problem-solving and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts,
math) fundamentals in each class! In each of these sessions, kids will
learn about a “superstar” in history from the worlds of science, education, sports,
music and more, and solve STEAM challenges related to that superstar’s
field. Here’s the superstars that we
plan to cover each week:
- Week 1: Leonardo da Vinci Dive
- Week 2: Roberto Clemente Field
- Week 3: Fab Four Submarine (The Beatles)
- Week 4: Malala’s Schoolhouse (Malala Yousafzai)
- Week 5: Quarterback Stadium (Tom Brady)
- Week 6: Star Mountain (Walt Disney)
- Week 7: Tiger Fairway (Tiger Woods)
- Week 8: Big Top Tent (P.T. Barnum)
Classes start on Wednesday, November 4th, and end on December 23rd (8
weeks total). Cost for this class will include a "treasure chest" material kit which will provide students with supplies needed for solving the challenges in each class.
