Challenge Island® partners with Girl Scout councils nationwide, and we are now offering hands-on STEAM Girl Scout virtual workshops for girls of all ages - Daisy through Ambassador. But girls take note: These are not sit-watch-a-video and do the activity on your own types of classes! These classes are fully interactive with the teacher and the other kids on the call and completely hands-on, just as our in-person classes are. Join us on our interactive online classes and connect with your troop members and new Girl Scout friends. We have put together a special workshop just for you!
************************************************************************************************************
Daisy Caring and Kindness for All Workshop has 3 separate challenges that are scheduled on different dates and times (Pacific Time).
Sun, Oct 4 - 10 am - 12 pm - Make a Pet Palace Challenge & Create a Pet Care Pinball Challenge
Mon, Oct 5 - 4 pm - 5 pm - Choose Kindness: Build a Rocket and Explore the Galaxy Challenge
At each workshop session, girls will use the Engineering Design Process to understand a real-world issue, create a design build around the topic, and will have the opportunity to show off their go-getter ingenuity to their fellow Girl Scouts. Girls are encouraged to wear their sash/vest.
With participation in all three Journey workshop sessions, girls complete the requirements for ‘Considerate & Caring’ Petal, ‘Birdbath’ and ‘Red Robin’ Awards, except for the Take Action Project which must come from the girls' vision and be implemented in their community per GS requirements. The Take Action Project will need to be completed as a Girl Scout troop or as an individual.
Once we receive your
registration, we will send you a Materials List from
which your Girl Scout can have a scavenger hunt with
around the house. Many of the items are things you might have
already in the house. You can gather an item OR substitute something
else. If you paid for materials fee, we'll email you with the materials pickup
date and address. Materials kits are only available in the San Diego area.
We will also send you a
link to join Home Island, Challenge Island's virtual classroom. Zoom link and materials list will
be emailed to you at least 5 days before the workshop date.
If you have more than one Girl
Scout in this level in your household, the 2nd girl gets a 50% discount.
A Certificate of Completion & exclusive Challenge Island patch will be mailed directly to the Girl Scout upon completion of all 3 challenges. This does not include the Badges.
