Challenge Island - Antarctic Penguin Sled Workshop

In partnership with the Meadowbrook Center for Learning Differences, we are excited to offer this one-day program for all students in grades K-5!  In our Antarctic Iceberg STEAM workshop, students will travel to Antarctica to learn about the geography there as well as some of its most famous residents, the penguins.  We'll learn about types of penguins, how they stay warm and how they move around, then we'll use the powers of friction and momentum to create our own "penguin sleds" that we'll race down the local slopes!

This workshop is an opportunity to build skills & learning in STEAM fundamentals (science, technology, engineering, arts, math), crosscurricular topics and also teamwork skills, as students work in small teams ("tribes") to build and experiment in a supportive, positive environment.  We look forward to seeing you on Challenge Island!
