Challenge Island® partners with Girl Scout councils nationwide, and we offer fully interactive, hands-on STEAM Girl Scout workshops for girls of all ages - Daisy through Ambassador! This workshop is taught by a certified Challenge Island Owner who is also a Lifetime Girl Scout and a former Girl Scout Council Director.
So come join us for this awesome workshop and connect with your troop members and new Girl Scout friends. We have put together a special workshop just for you!
· * Our whimsical, creativity-based STEAM curriculum inspires girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.
· * The Scientific Method / Engineering Design Process is used by girls throughout every challenge as our cross-curricular island themes extend their learning across multiple disciplines.
· * Both left & right sides of the brain are utilized as innovative, creative thinking is encouraged and celebrated.
· * Challenges emphasize strengthening valuable skills such as communication, critical & creative thinking, flexibility, leadership, initiative, social skills, grit, & perseverance.
· * Our workshops prepare the fun, lively G.I.R.L. of today for the ever-changing global marketplace of the future.

In the workshop, girls will work in teams and use the Engineering Design Process to work through a series of STEAM design challenges to earn their
~ Roller Coaster Design Challenge Badge
~ Model Car Design Challenge Badge
~ Arcade Game Design Challenge Badge
Girls are encouraged to wear their sash/vest.
**Troops must come in proper girl to adult ratio. Juliette Girl Scouts must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. These are NOT drop off programs.
COST INCLUDES: The STEAM challenges, all needed supplies & materials, a snack & beverage, and exclusive Challenge Island patch ... AND lots of fun! This workshop does not include the 3 badges.
There is a GS Shop at the Traverse City Service Center. You are welcome to purchase them over the phone and ask for them to be left in the large meeting room for the Saturday event.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Is two (2) weeks prior to the event date or when the workshop fills to capacity.
