What is Challenge Island?
Challenge Island® is a premier S.T.E.A.M. enrichment program that transforms
problem-solving and critical thinking into an exciting adventure. Developed over
the last two decades by experts in early childhood education, Challenge Island is
thrilled to be part of Andrew's Afterschool Enrichment Program.
Who uses Challenge Island?
With a remarkable presence in 34 states and 10,000+ schools, Challenge Island’s
more than 200 STEAM courses have impacted the lives of over 5 million children.
What does a Challenge Island STEAM class look like?
In a Challenge Island STEAM class, students travel to different countries and
eras with a STEAM team of their peers. They learn about STEAM concepts that
precipitated disasters like sinking of the Titanic, or how a truss design keeps the
Sydney Harbor bridge afloat. Then, powered by everyday supplies, and using
their own imagination, students team-up and recreate the monuments. Just like
the professional foosball table in the image above; made with dixie cups, wooden
dowels, coin rollers and more...
