GLOBE TREKKING FAMILY STEM EVENT

Come join us for a fun afternoon with your family!  

May:  Hawaii's Mount Kilauea Volcano

Join us this month for our Globe Trekking Family Events which are held the 1st Saturday of the month!  Each month we will "visit" a new area of our wonderous world.  Learn about the country, the culture, and maybe even a little language. 

In May, we will be visiting beautiful Hawaii and learning about the Mount Kilauea active volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii.  We will learn about it's active state, magma vs lava, about active lava flows, as well as some of the beliefs and legends of this great volcano.  Your famliy  will be able to build a table-top volcano covered with earth (dough) and erupt your volcano over and over!  We are going to have an explosive time!  

In our unplugged programs, kids experience all aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) AND have opportunity to develop their Life Skills in Communication, Collaboration, Critical & Creative Thinking, Flexibility, Sociability, Initiative, Leadership, and Perseverance Through Difficulty.  At Challenge Island, we are dedicated to ensuring a brighter future for our kids and our communities by helping you prepare your child to succeed in the 21st century. 

Event open to families to participate in together.  This is not a drop off event.  

Fee: $25 PER FAMILY;  Register your oldest child and then email Renee at rallen@challenge-island.com with number of additional famliy members. 

Event includes:

> 2 hours of STEAM activities

> Time with The Curiosity Place's hands-on exhibits.  With registration to this event, your famliy has free admission to The Curiosity Place for the whole day!  

Date:           April 5, 2025

Time:           2:00 - 4:00 pm 

Location:    The Curiosity Place (powered by the Great Lakes Children's Museum) located in the Grand Traverse Mall. 

Registration Deadline:  April 2nd (9p) OR when the event fills.  

Pre-Registration is Required because there is limited capacity.
