Family STEAM Saturdays

Alaskan Ice Fishing   

No braving the cold.  Just the fun of fishing!  We will build our fishing poles (for the 6 and under crowd, we'll have some premade) and fishing through the "ice" be using the power of magnetism!  This is fun for all ages. Come try your hand at ice fishing and who knows?  You may pull up a fish with some treasure attached!  

In our unplugged programs, kids experience all aspects of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) AND have opportunity to develop their Life Skills in Communication, Collaboration, Critical & Creative Thinking, Flexibility, Sociability, Initiative, Leadership, and Perseverance Through Difficulty.  At Challenge Island, we are dedicated to ensuring a brighter future for our kids and our communities by helping you prepare your child to succeed in the 21st century. 

* This event is open for families to participate together.  This is not a drop off event. *

Event open to families of any kind ~ parents/kids, grandparents/grandkids, nanny/kids ....whatever family is to you.

Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm 

Your family can drop in anytime during the event, but we will be closing up at 12 noon to clear the event room for other needs. 

Location: The Curiosity Place (powered by the Great Lakes Children's Museum) located in the Grand Traverse Mall. 

Fee: FREE EVENT with paid admission to The Curiosity Place. 

Pre-Registration is not Required but there is limited capacity in the event room. See below on how to save a spot for you family ahead of time in case it is a busy morning at the museum.
