Monsters and Myths Island | Grades K–5 | Tuesdays | 6-Class Session

Prepare to enter an enchanted island filled with mythological monsters, legendary creatures and things that go bump in the night. You and a STEAM Team® of friends will take on engineering challenges from Dracula to Dragons, from Bigfoot to Hydra, from Medusa to Monster Trucks to Egyptian Mummies! A STEAMtastic adventure that only Challenge Island could dream up, Monsters and Myths Island is so spectacular it will give you goosebumps.

Parent Note:

Disaster Island is designed for students in grades K–5. Each 55-minute session blends history, science, and engineering through hands-on projects in small STEAM Teams®.

• Format: 7-week session, 55 minutes each

• Ages: Grades K–5 (younger students welcome with light parent support)

• Drop-off friendly: Parents may stay if they’d like

• Capacity: Up to 16 students (STEAM Teams of 4)

• Learning focus: Creativity, engineering design, teamwork, problem-solving, and history connections

• Supplies: All project materials provided

• What to bring: Water bottle

• Documentation: Families receive a short written summary after each class to share with HSTs

• No Class: 11/11 (Veterans Day) & 11/25 (Thanksgiving week)

• Refunds: Full refund up to 7 days before the first class; pro-rated credit for illness with notice

• Makeups: If Challenge Island cancels for weather or venue, we add a makeup date or credit your account
