Junior Think Like an Engineer Journey Workshop

Challenge Island has partnered with the Girl Scouts in communities nationwide and now a Challenge Island has opened here in Northern Michigan!  We offer exciting badge and patch programs for Girl Scouts of all ages from Daisies to Cadettes.

·      - Our whimsical, creativity-based STEM/STEAM curriculum inspires girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and math.

·      - The Scientific Method is used by girls throughout each challenge as our cross-curricular island themes extend their learning across multiple disciplines.

·      - Both left & right sides of the brain are utilized as innovative, creative thinking is encouraged and celebrated.

·      - Challenges emphasize valuable skills such as collaboration, communication, critical & creative thinking, flexibility, leadership, initiative, social skills & grit.

·      - Prepares the fun, lively G.I.R.L. of today for the ever-changing global marketplace of the future.

Come Join Us and find out what Challenge Island is all about! We have put together a special workshop just for you!

In the Junior Think Like an Engineer Journey Workshop, girls will use the Engineering Design Process to build the Eiffel Tower, create an Emergency Shelter for Pets, and construct an Earthquake Safe Hotel.

Girls: $20 per girl includes all materials, take-aways, and exclusive Challenge Island patch received at the event.

Adults: $0 as part of girl/adult ration for a troop or individual chaperone for a Juliette girl.  Due to space restrictions, troops will only be allowed enough adults to cover their girl/adult ratio.

**Troops must come in proper girl to adult ratio. Juliette Girl Scouts must be accompanied by an immediate parent or guardian. These are NOT drop off programs.

Registration Deadline is two (2) weeks prior to the event date.
