GS Brownies will take on the following 3 challenges during the Virtual Think Like an Engineer Journey Workshop:
- Design a Helping Hand Machine & Game Challenge
- Design a Pop Flying Rocket Challenge
- Design a Water Pipeline and Collection Center Challenge
In this workshop, girls will use the Engineering Design Process to understand real-world
issues, create design builds around the topics, and will have the opportunity to
show off their go-getter ingenuity to their fellow Girl Scouts. Girls are
encouraged to wear their sash/vest.
The girls' participation in all three challenges completes the entire Journey except
for the Take Action Project which must come from the girls' vision and be
implemented in their community per GS requirements. The Take Action
Project will need to be completed as a Girl Scout troop or as an individual.
Once registered, we
will arrange for materials pickup if you've paid the materials fee. Otherwise, we'll send you a Materials List, which your Girl Scout can have a scavenger hunt with around the house. These are common household items that you may already have at home. Your Girl Scout can gather an item OR substitute
something else.
We will send you a link to join Home Island, Challenge Island's
virtual classroom. If you
have more than one Girl Scout in this
level, siblings get 50% discount.
A Certificate of
Completion & exclusive Challenge Island patch will be mailed directly to
the address on our registration. This does not include the
Journey Award.
